Tides and Traces

Duo show: Henri Haake and Seungjun Lee in collaboration with Office Impart

10.09.2025 - 07.10.2025

Two artistic positions meet, each exploring the fleeting nature of memories and moments from different perspectives - Haake as the gallery artist represented by Office Impart, and Lee as an independent curatorial invitation by Studio Hanniball.

The exhibition focuses on the tension between the ephemeral and the lasting. It revolves around those transient scenes that imprint themselves on our memory - sometimes sharply defined, sometimes only as fragments. Memories that shift over time, overlap, and reassemble into new forms.

Henri Haake approaches these inner images with a narrative lightness. His works resemble mental snapshots - everyday scenes that echo in color and form. He also draws on iconographic motifs, translating and updating them for contemporary contexts. Recurring elements - above all, flowing water - run through his work like a quiet rhythm, referencing cyclical processes in which everything remains in motion.

Seungjun Lee, on the other hand, works with materials like sand - a medium that is inherently unstable, dispersing, disintegrating, yet also stimulating. In his installations and objects, remembering becomes a physical, sensory experience. Sand symbolizes what cannot be held onto, yet still leaves traces behind.

Rather than viewing memory as a static archive, the works present it as a dynamic, malleable process. Both artistic positions combine visual sensitivity with poetic openness - situated between concreteness and dissolution, between presence and disappearance.
