Her works are an exploration of themes such as female power, physicality and social power structures. She caricatures the cult of the body, the obsession with beauty and the competitiveness of today’s fitness culture as symptoms of internalized norms. In her visual worlds, she stages and reveals the work performed on one’s own body as a means of dictating a compulsion to perform. In the video performance for this exhibition, inspired by the aesthetics of online beauty tutorials, the artist takes on the role of a mentor in the quest for rejuvenation.
