will-o‘-wisp
Dominika Bednarsky and Paul K. Müller
Studio Hanniball presents new work by Paul K. Müller and Dominika Bednarsky in the duo exhibition “will-o’-wisp”. Müller’s paintings transform seemingly calm, flat surfaces into dynamic, layered spaces where fragments, symbols, and figures surface like pieces of an open-ended narrative. Many were created during our first residency program at Studio Hanniball. Bednarsky, meanwhile, pushes a charged motif to the point of absurdity in her ceramic candle holders, playfully undercutting symbolic value through materially driven, humorous twists. “Will-o’-wisp” - the flickering ghost light - evokes a state of hybridity: a fragile promise of orientation that becomes productive precisely through its elusiveness. Liminal spaces emerge - suspended zones between dream and reality, life and decay, imagination and observation.
