“I know a miracle will happen one day.”
(Zarah Leander)
Second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour: time runs and runs in circles, always approaching twelve o'clock. High Noon is the day's tipping point, its brightest moment; its nocturnal counterpart is midnight. But what if time suddenly falls out of step? If clocks abruptly begin to run differently and all sorts of creatures from worlds of their own come to life? Then it is high time for miracles to happen and myths to whisper. Opaque figures and obscure objects tell stories of their essential being. They invent fairy tales and compose legends where time can be stretched, compressed or brought to a complete standstill in parallel, there in the echo chambers of time no longer deferred. Where there is no five-minutes-to-midnight alarm, or is there? In 'High Noon in the Magic Forest', Lars Unkenholz, Marlene Kargl, Nschotschi Haslinger and Magdalena Frauenberg dream another world, or rather several new worlds. They dream themselves into places where yesterday, today and tomorrow no longer apply, but where the simultaneity of stories opens up new spaces of imagination.
