DOMINIKA BEDNARSKY (*1994, Schweinfurt) lives and works in Berlin. She graduated from the Offenbach University of Art and Design in 2024. In her artistic practice, Bednarsky works with clay and ceramic objects, often incorporating animal and plant motifs. She distorts these in a humorous yet unsettling way. Her arrangements, with their comical, cheerful, and melancholic feel, refer to the vanitas still lifes of the 17th century and combine them with contemporary and pop cultural references. The result is an absurd reflection on hedonistic consumer culture and everyday kitsch, in which the artificiality of modern life is overlaid with a longing for nature and authentic emotions - equally disturbing and touching.
